How can I help you?

Consultation and Advice

A low-cost case review and consultation service is available for parents who just want information and advice about a school-related concern without formal representation.

Representation

When a problem is more substantive or complex, or when parents would simply prefer not to deal with the school themselves, I provide formal legal representation in IEP meetings, negotiations, mediations, complaints to administrative agencies, manifestation determinations, and other proceedings.

Problem Solving

I pursue my client’s objectives with appropriate professionalism to avoid making a disagreement with the school unnecessarily hostile or personal. Avoiding unnecessary hostility increases the likelihood of a prompt and favorable resolution, and helps promote a constructive relationship between the family and the school in the future.

Assistance Tailored To Your Needs

I have helped hundreds of families with a broad range of school problems. I have the experience to adjust to the unique demands of each situation. I provide a variety of services to address the many different problems and conflicts that can arise between families and schools.

Results Matter

This is your child’s life, not an academic exercise.

I didn’t get involved in this kind of work to waste people’s money.  I got involved to help the  kids.

I am the parent of a special needs child myself.  I am keenly aware that every dollar a parent spends on my services is a dollar they don’t have available for something else their child needs.

So when a parent comes to me for help, I feel a moral compulsion to provide real help and produce real improvements in the situation.  I care about the results and outcomes of my cases. If I don’t have reason to believe that my involvement can make a difference in your child’s life, I’ll tell you so.
